Five shows I’ve been watching

Like pretty much the rest of the world I have been making the most of my Amazon Prime/NOW TV subscriptions. So I thought I would share with you what I have been watching. Let me know in the comments anything you recommend or that you have been watching.

  1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Amazon Prime and 4oD (Channel 4 iplayer) have all seasons of Buffy. I have not watched it for years so out of boredom I decided to watch it from the beginning. I am on season 5 I think and taking a break currently as I wanted something a little less dark at the moment. Obviously the big question is are you an Angel or a Spike fan? For the record although Angel is more my usual type its always been Spike for me all the way. Moody, bad ass, leather clad and hot. If any non vampires fit that description….
  2. Ally McBeal
I can’t believe how old this series is (1998) but whilst chatting about Frasier with my best mate she mentioned Ally. I was in the mood for something fluffy and silly and I remember the lawyers being insanely odd (bygones, dancing babies, whistling nose – if you know you know). What is striking me is how annoying, selfish and irritating Ally actually is. I am glad I never saw any traits of myself in her. I will still watch it to the end but I guess I am a lot older and wiser than when I first watched it and I don’t resonate with her at all.
  3. Mission Impossible films
Finally got round to watching the last Mission Impossible film which I enjoyed as I had hoped I would. Got me in the mood for Ethan Hunt and his team so decided to re watch them all from the start. I do have them on DVD but don’t currently own a DVD player I can use with my smart TV so thanks to NOW TV I am on MI4!
  4. NT Live
When lock down was announced and theatres closed, NT Live who usually screen to cinemas, announced that they would air performances weekly on YouTube. For this I am forever thankful. Seeing theatre is part of my life and I have seen more performances in the last 3 months than I have in 3 years. I have written down all the plays I have seen – do make sure you watch this weeks tonight Thursday 9th July at 7pm BST Deep Blue Sea by Terrence Rattigan.
  5. Downton Abbey
Another film I missed at the cinema and really wanted to watch. I was a big fan of the series and had the good fortune to visit Highclere Castle a couple of years ago. Nice bit of laid back, comfort viewing on a wet and cold night. I actually know one of the cast he used to go to my University. Great to see him doing so well. I thought it was a good move to the big screen they did a good job and a nice way to round up the stories.

I have watched a few other films here and there. I still have some on my watch list to get through before my NOW TV subscription goes up (I had a deal I was only paying £4 a month for six months it will go up to £11.99 soon which I don’t want to pay at the moment).

Have a good weekend everyone 🙂
